The Schools United website is the first networking site dedicated solely to the education community worldwide. It provides schools and staff with the free facility to share educational resources and experiences. Share anything from teaching aids to multimedia files (video, audio and photos). Or download new sheet music for the school band, get school trips ideas, or share artistic works…the list is endless!!! Schools United will open to its users the wide world of education – from the four corners of the globe. The Schools United is truly a global experience.
Once schools have registered and completed the short Registration Form, they can link instantly to other schools with similar interests, issues or ideas. It is easy to make the link – just use the powerful search facility and get rapid suggestions for who’s out there, and who shares a school’s interests.

Once registered, a profile page will automatically be created for each school. This is accessible by all users regardless of whether they are ‘linked’ to the school. The school profile displays information such as the country and region/state in which the school is based, the approximate number of pupils attending, and the school type (high school/primary school etc) amongst other things.
Some of the profile data such as email address and telephone number is restricted and can only be accessed by linked schools/friends.
The school profile pages can also display staff users associated with the current school, latest activities and a ‘mini-blog’ for posting comments. Recent photos and videos added by the school are also shown here. The more information that’s displayed, the better the chance of locating your school “buddies” and make the links you need or wish for.

Once a school has registered, the administrator of the main school account can then add staff users.
Each new staff user will be provided with their own login details (username and password) and subsequently access The Schools United themselves.
Staff users will then have the opportunity to form “friendships” with other staff users across the globe.

Registered users (both schools and nominated staff) will have the chance to access (and create) various communities. The Schools United communities allow educators with a common interest (such as Geography, Music or Maths) to share their resources, opinions and experiences relating to that subject or interest with other schools and staff worldwide. The aim is to keep everyone and everything as up-to-date as possible – a live arena for all your educational interests.

The site will accept advertising for supplies or information that would be difficult for schools to access easily. Without a great deal of time-consuming research, schools will find useful and context-sensitive advertising. Saving time (and money) for its community is one of the key goals of The Schools United.
