Mater Academy Charter Middle High




About Our School Mater Academy Charter School, located in Hialeah Gardens, is a secondary Charter School that teaches middle and high school grade levels. Students are divided into 6 to 8 as middle, and 9 to 12 as high school. The school opened in 2003, with its current principal as Judith C. Marty.

In the 2007-2008 school year, the middle, high, and Performing Arts and Entertainment divisions all received an "A" rating in the state's FCAT examination, making it one of the best schools in the state.

The school also has a division within the school for the performing arts, called the Mater Performing Arts and Entertainment Academy, which emphasizes on Drama, Art, Dance, and Music for high school students.

It prides itself for its diversity having teachers, students, and staff from countries such as Turkey, Australia, India, England, Canada, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, South Africa , Cuba, Spain and a varied amount of countries from South America and the Caribbean.

As of June 6, 2008, work has started to replace the band room and the white tent area with a 2 story building to serve for the same purpose.
