| About Our School |
Wilhelm-Kaisen-Schule has been a member of the associated schools project of UNESCO since 1991. It is situated on the left bank of the River Weser in a part of the city called New Town, which is not far from the medieval town centre. Our school building is from the 1970s. The highest part of the building that sports a bright orange houses the laboratories: biology, physics, chemistry, music, art, modern technologies. The school is situated in a park with a beautiful schoolyard that has a southern flair and offers a variety of sporting facilities (climbing, basketball, volleyball, football).
Our pupils are between 10 and 16 years old. Those who want to take their A-levels have to go on to a sixth form, which we don't provide, but most of our pupils leave school after year 10, anyway, to start an apprenticeship and/or go to a vocational school.
The languages taught at WKS are English from year 5, as well as Spanish, French and Turkish from year 6.
We have had exchange programmes with Scotland, Poland, Russia, Spain, Israel, France and Turkey since the 1970s. Due to the multicultural mixture of pupils that attend our school we have an open minded and flexible staff. |
